1987 – Pacific Zebra Design Is Founded

In a small home studio in Mississippi, the Wilson family launches Pacific Zebra Design. The first project? A living room that paired safari textiles with clean-lined leather furniture.

1992 – First Full Home Project

Pacific Zebra completes its first full-home interior design for a coastal property. Signature elements include layered neutrals, exposed wood, and zebra-hide accent chairs.

1999 – Safari Meets Seattle

A second office opens in Seattle, bringing the brand’s Southern warmth and natural textures to the Pacific Northwest. The name Pacific Zebra now feels truly bi-coastal.

2003 – Next Generation Joins

Founders’ daughter Camille Wilson joins the firm after graduating from RISD. She introduces modern sculptural lighting and subtle mid-century influences to the studio’s aesthetic.

2008 – Style Evolution: Modern Heritage

The team leans into its signature style—modern luxury with rooted African influence. Soft edges, bold patterns, and heritage materials define this new design chapter.

2015 – In-Home Experience Model Launches

Pacific Zebra shifts to an in-home consultation model, offering private presentations and custom material samples to clients directly in their spaces.

2019 – 100th Project Completed

The firm celebrates its 100th full-service home design. The project, a lakeside retreat in Washington, becomes a client favorite and internal benchmark for the brand’s evolution.

2023 – Design Archives Come to Life

We unveil a curated collection of our most iconic work—sketches, textiles, and prototypes—celebrating decades of creativity and craftsmanship in a new permanent archive for the team and clients to explore.

2025 – Looking Ahead

Now run by both generations of the Wilson family, Pacific Zebra continues to blend texture, form, and story—elevating interiors with intention and personality.
